LOS ANGELES, April 21, 2018 (Newswire.com) - The dedication event for the new home of the Los Angeles Football Club was celebrated with a great fanfare for the arrival of Major League Soccer to Los Angeles.
The ribbon cutting ceremony at the new Banc of California Stadium included the ownership team “cutting” a giant ribbon wrapped at an entrance of the new 22,000-seat soccer-specific venue.
Live special effects were used to highlight the ribbon ceremony and to extend the excitement of the important moment. The special effect team of TLC Creative used white sparkle fountains and cryo jets to mark the moment, while also shooting out a climactic burst of streamers. TLC also provided aerial camera drones, showcasing great views of the new stadium near downtown Los Angeles.
I'm excited to welcome the Los Angeles Football Club to the City of Angels. Los Angeles loves soccer and now the greatest sports town in America gets even better. I look forward to celebrating the inaugural season and soon the MLS Cup in the City of Los Angeles.
VIP guests toured the new stadium and interacted with the star studded ownership group including sports and entertainment icon Peter Guber, businessmen Ruben Gnanalingam and Vincent Tan, LAFC Club President Tom Penn, U.S. soccer superstar Mia Hamm Garciaparra, NBA legend Earvin Magic Johnson, MLB All-Star Nomar Garciaparra, and others.
The LA soccer stadium also includes over 100,000 sq. ft. of new restaurants, office space, a conference center and a first-of-its kind world football (soccer) museum.
“Los Angeles is a city famed for its creativity and innovation. In that tradition we look forward to building a premier club, in a state of the art stadium delivering a state of the heart experience, and bringing the world’s game to the City of Angels,” said Peter Guber, executive chairman of LAFC.
